Light Sweet Crude

Light Sweet Crude is a a name given to oil that contains less than 0.5% sulfur. Light sweet crude is commonly used to produce gasoline and other fuels. It is referred to as “sweet” because the low level of sulfur provides the oil with a slightly sweet taste. Prospectors in the nineteenth century would taste oil to measure its quality.
